As the night settles in, all I have to say is that the textbook I have for History is a giant tomb of awesome. I'm totally in love with it but more so, I am currently in love with Machiavelli and Frederick the Great who was apparently, a pansy boy who shocked the socks off of the rest of Europe (France, Britain, Austria, Spain etc., etc.). He shocked me a bit too... Apparently it's speculated he was homosexual and Voltaire, I repeat,
Voltaire flirted with him all the time while he lived with Frederick on his request. But then Frederick kicked his ass out of Prussia for being all "enlightening" but in that insulting way that no one actually likes. Least of all the King of Prussia. The story of Voltaire's life I suppose. Although I'd never heard of the homosexual references before... -shrugs-
Absolute despots and their nice counterparts, "enlightened despots" are a rather fun topic to learn about. I am greatly enjoying History already. I wonder when I'll start wailing about it too... I even have a gist of an idea for my IA. Me having ideas that are not in the week before my IA is due for my IA is certainly refreshing. :D Bolsheviks, I cometh to learn about thee!
Sadly, all of my ability for French has died. It is Gone Like the Wind. We had to make questions out of answers today and I stared at my page blankly and felt sleepy. Oh French, you shall be the end of me. Woe and angst ensues. And dramatic hand to forehead swooning gestures.
Now excuse me while I try to fit Mr. Frederick's life on one page of disposable facts.
